The Importance of Consistency & Perseverance in Your Blogger & Influencer Business

Feb 12, 2020

It all started with my adult acne…

I was recently going through and organizing all of my paperwork and I found all of this stuff from when I did Accutane this time last year.

As a disclaimer, Accutane is a very strong drug, it’s highly regulated, and it’s not for everyone.

Today I’m sharing my journey with Accutane and the lessons I learned and how it relates to business as a blogger and influencer.

I’ve taken Accutane twice already when I was in high school and the second time it didn’t really stick because I didn’t take it for long enough.

You’re supposed to take it for six months at a time and I only took it for around four months the second time.

I do a lot of video for my business and when you have bad acne, it can really make you feel less confident, it makes you feel less pretty, and it’s frustrating to deal with.

So now, I’m 27 years old and my acne was awful. I put up with it for a year, felt like I tried everything, and to be honest - it was embarrassing.

When I decided to go back to Accutane, I felt a lot of shame around it. I felt like I should really be able to control this on my own with natural products. And as someone that tried to use clean products whenever possible, turning to Accutane was the bottom of the barrel for me.

Seeing Results Through Consistency

Going on Accutane is a big investment in your health, especially when you’re not on corporate health insurance.

And my biggest takeaway from the process was consistency.

What I found through the process, was what they said through the whole thing.

“You have to take this at the same time every day.”
“It’s important you’re really consistent.”
“You need to follow the steps and procedures.”
“Every day, every month, you’re doing the same thing over and over again, and that’s how you’ll get results.”

By continuously being told that if I stop taking it, if I skip a day, or if I stop early, I won’t see the same results as if I finished the program and that really reminded me of the cycle of what we go through in business.

The Business Cycle

When we have a problem and want a big change, we need a big solution.

The icky part and the part where we can back out on, is where we have to be consistent throughout the process.

If you’re not consistent throughout the entire process, that’s when the results are not what you want them to be.

At the end of the day, consistency and perseverance through the process is going to get you the results you want.

Always cheering you on,
